A Fort Smith exterior

Before: the front walk of a Fort Smith house with red brick walls and pale green siding
After: the same front walk, white brick and black siding with white trim
Before and after, Fort Smith.

The outside of a house takes the sun, the rain and the freeze, and paint is the layer that takes it first. We strip what's failing, prep the surface and put on a fresh coat on siding, trim, doors and fences across Poteau and the River Valley.

The stained fences and the front door in our photos are the crew's own work. If your paint is chalking, cracking or lifting at the edges, that's the time to call, before the wood under it starts to go.

What's included

Prep
We remove peeling old paint, clean the surface and put on a fresh coat.
Cleanup
The crew cleans up when the job is done.

What exterior painting includes

Siding, trim, front doors and fences. The Fort Smith house in our before and after had red brick and pale green siding before; after, the brick is white and the siding is black with white trim. The fences in the photos are stained, not painted.

The prep

We remove the peeling old paint, clean the surface, and put on a fresh new coat. Paint over loose paint fails with it.

Weather and timing

April to September is our busy season for exterior painting, the warm half of the year. The cold half brings about 63 freezing nights at Fort Smith and about 67 at Sallisaw in a normal year, by NOAA's 1991 to 2020 normals, and from October to March most of our work is cabinets and interiors. May is the wettest month at both stations. How many days your house takes depends on its size, its height and how much old paint has to come off, and we tell you when we look at it.

What changes the price

Size and height
How much siding and trim there is, and how high it goes.
Condition
How much old paint is peeling and has to come off first.
Surfaces
Siding, doors and fences each take their own prep.
Colors
A full color change takes more coats than a refresh.

  • Trifecta Pro Painting has completed projects for me in two different homes. Joe, Kevin, and Jackson have provided an enormous amount of assistance. They are all very courteous and professional. They are knowledgeable of their craft and how to prep surfaces. They are knowledgeable of what paints are the highest quality and provide the best coverage and best outcomes. The men paint cleanly and clean up after their jobs. They have completed interior and exterior projects in my homes. They are Christian men with high standards and morals and are reliable with their arrival and completion times. I would highly recommend Trifecta Pro Painting for your painting needs.

Exterior questions

How much does it cost to paint a house exterior near Fort Smith or Poteau?

It depends on the size and height of the house, how much old paint has to come off, which surfaces are included and how big the color change is. We look at the house and give you a price.

When do you paint outside?

April to September is our busy season for exterior painting. From October to March most of our work is cabinets and interiors, because of the cold. You can ask about an exterior in any month.

How long does exterior paint last in eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas?

It depends on the prep, the product and how much sun and water the wall takes. Here's the weather a coat of paint lives through on both sides of the state line: NOAA's normals show about 47 inches of rain a year at Fort Smith and at Sallisaw, about 78 and 61 days at 90 degrees or hotter, and about 63 and 67 freezing nights.

Do you remove peeling paint first?

Yes. On 1 house we removed the peeling old paint on the back, cleaned it up and put on a fresh new coat.

Do you stain fences?

Yes. The dark stained fences in our photos are our work.

Do you paint exteriors in Fort Smith?

Yes. Our exterior before and after is a Fort Smith house.

How do I get a price for exterior painting?
